We begin your tour at our office, the oldest building in the Ottawa Historic District and the last remaining wood structure. Our first stop is a saloon that has retained its beautiful 1890's interior Here our story of corruption and malfeasance we will begin to unfold as you imbibe in a vino or beverage of your choice. The city of Ottawa had some corruption during prohibition, and we will hear it unfold throughout the evening. We will meet the characters who played a part in this corruption. The evening unfolds at two more saloons. Drink specials are available at some locations. By the end of the night, you'll feel as though you've lived through the dark days of prohibition in the heart of Starved Rock Country.

Sugar Creek Lodge is nestled in the forest on the shoreline of beautiful Lake of Egypt. The three story home features two decks, a built in fire pit and large windows with gorgeous views. You will love the privacy that is unique to this property on the lake. The lodge has all new furnishings(including mattresses), an upgraded kitchen with brand new appliances in 2021. The internet was upgraded in November 2021 to fiber optic! 🙌🏼 The space Guests will enjoy one of the most unique properties on beautiful Lake of Egypt because it truly feels like you are in the forest and do not have neighbors on either side. Each floor has a bedroom and full bathroom. Top floor bedroom has king bed, large jacuzzi tub & tv. Main floor bedroom has king bed, office space. Basement level bedroom has a full size bed and a twin size bunk bed. There is a queen size sofa bed in the basement, too. The basement has a tv and you can log into your own streaming apps for your viewing pleasure. Our internet was upgraded in Nov 2021 to fiber optic. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The home has two refrigerators and a washer (new in 2021) and dryer you may use. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property. Enjoy the privacy! Other things to note Our dock was replaced November 2021! There is now a slip for renters to dock their boat. We do not rent our boat or jet skis, however you will have access to two kayaks.
